Arrival at BIA Katunayake – Negombo – Negombo City Tour

Arrival at Bandarnayaka international airport katunayake and welcome by srilanka adventure travels representative, then proceed to Negombo beach hotel (15 minutes from airport). A Few hours leisure on the beach, then start a city tour of Negombo,visit the remains of the Dutch period including fish market,Buddhist temple, Catholic Church, Hindu temple, market and bazaar area. Optional : Boat safari on the Dutch canal. In the evening a welcome cocktail and brief explanation of the tour. Overnight stay in Negombo.

Yapahuwa Rock Fortress - Anurdhapura

After breakfast we proceed to Yapahuwa through Kurunegala. Yapahuwa was a well secured rock fortress which became the 4th kingdom of Sri-Lanka during the 14th century A.D. and which is home to beautiful rock sculptures unsurpassed in any other nation. Then proceed to Anuradhapura and overnight stay.

Anuradhapura City Tour - Mihintale – Habarana

After breakfast city tour in Anurdhapura which was the first capital of Sri-Lanka for more than 1500 years and the residence of 113 kings. It is famous for its well preserved ruins of ancient Sri-Lanka. It was declared as a world heritage site of UNESCO. It is one of the largest ruined cities in Asia surrounded by monasteries covering an area of forty square kilometers (40 km²). We then proceed to Mihintale which is the place where Buddhism was officially introduced to Sri-Lanka on a June (poson) full moon day in the year 247 B.C. Since then Mihintale is considered as the cradle of Buddhist civilization of the country. This was a huge monastery complex where 2000 monks lived. On your way back to Habarana a visit to the Aukana Buddha Statue, a marvelous rock sculpture which is considered a masterpiece of Sri-Lanka. Overnight stay at Habarana.

Polonnaruwa City Tour – Sigiriya Rock Fortress- Habarana

After breakfast proceeding to Polonnaruwa, which was the medieval capital of Sri-Lanka, built in 11th and 12th centuries also declared a world heritage site. You can see the ruins of the Royal palace, Lotus bath, Buddhist monuments, and visit Lankathilaka and Galviharaya with their splendid statues of the Buddha, carved out of the living rock. Visit a wood carving center, and then proceed to Sigiriya a well secured rock fortress which is also a world heritage site. Built by king Kashyapa in the 5th century A.D. Its home to water gardens with fountains which are still functioning, frescoes, ancient graffiti and amazing ruins of the palace on the rock. Optional : Ride on an elephant or Village tour. Overnight stay at Habarana.

Dambulla Cave Temple - Nalanda Gedige- Matale Aluviharaya – Spice Garden – Kandy

After breakfast visit the Dambulla rock cave temple built by King Walagambahu, in the 1st century B.C. it is a world heritage site and the most impressive of Sri-Lanka’s cave temples. On your way to Kandy visit Nalanda Gedi Ge, near by Matale, it is an ancient building completely realized in stone built in a unique architectural style, then visit Matale Alu Viharaya, an ancient cave monastery and the place where monks wrote Buddhist philosophy on ola leaf books from the beginning of its history. Then visit a Spice Garden at Matale to learn about spices and their use in Sri-Lankan cuisines, followed by a visit to the tallest Hindu temple in Sri-Lanka at Matale. Leave for Kandy and overnight stay.

Ambekke Devalaya - Gadaladeniya - Lankathilaka - Royal Botanical Garden - Gem museum- Cultural Dance - Kandy

After breakfast visit Ambekke devalaya, Gadaladeniya temple, Lankathilaka temple. These were built during the Gampola period in the 14th century A.D. in a unique architectural style, and especially Ambekke devalaya is famous for its splendid wood carvings. The colour paintings of the Gadaladeniya and Lankathilaka temples show one of the examples of the traditional Kandian style. Continue to the Royal Botanical Garden in peradeniya. Visit gem lapidary where you can see, how rough gems (particularly the famous Blue & Star sapphires) are mined cut and polished using traditional methods and in the evening enjoying a Cultural show. Overnight stay in Kandy.

Tooth Relic Temple – Kandy City Tour – Tea Plantation & Tea factory - Nuwara Eliya (Little England)

Our journey continues driving through scenic mountains to Nuwara-Eliya, well known as “Little England”, stop to view mountains covered with tea bushes and at waterfalls. Enjoy the magnificent landscape. Visit a tea factory, follow the tea trails to watch the interesting process and enjoy a freshly brewed cup of Ceylon Tea . Overnight stay in Nuwara-Elya.

Nanu Oya to Ella by Train- Half day Leisure

After breakfast leave for Nanu-oya railway station then travel to Ella by local train passing through scenic mountains and tea plantations. On your way you can see the Sri-Lankan’s daily life style. Half day leisure at the hotel in Ella or the possibility to do some activities such as, cycling, rock climbing, trekking. Overnight stay in Ella.

Rawana Falls - Buduruwagala Temple – Tissamaharama - Jeep Safari in Yala National Park- Tissamaharama

After breakfast leave for Tissamaharama, on your way stop at Ravana falls then at Buduruwagala temple which is famous for rock sculptures of the Buddha and the Bodisathwa(future Buddha), situated in the jungle, the road to the temple is full of wonderful wild nature. Then proceed to Tissamaharama. In the afternoon enjoy a jeep safari at Yala National Park, which is the second largest national park in Sri-Lanka, its also has the highest density of the Leopards in the world and it is home to wild elephants, wild boars, wild buffaloes, sloth bear, spotted deer, and crocodiles. Large flocks of migratory and indigenous birds are also found here. Overnight stay in Tissamaharama.

Tangalle - Wewurukannala Temple - Stilt Fisherman - Galle Dutch Fortress - South Beach

After breakfast leave for Katharagama Hindu temple, it is a Hindu and Buddhist temple complex dedicated to Skanda-Murukan also known as Kataragama deviyo. It is one of the few religious sites in Sri-Lanka that is venerated by the majority Sinhala Buddhists, minority Hindu Tamils, Muslims and the indigenous Vedda people. The devotees come to this place annually to make their vows and make thanks for the fulfilled of their vows. Then proceed to Galle, on your way visit Wewurukannala temple and Stilt fisherman at Weligama. Next stop is to visit Galle Dutch Fortress, this was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO and is still a living colonial city. Then leave for Mirissa, Unawatuna, Hikkaduwa, or Bentoata. Optional : Whales and Dolphin watching, Water sports, deep sea fishing, visit a turtle hatchery.

Colombo - Colombo City Tour - Negombo

After breakfast proceed to Colombo. On your way stop at Meetiyagoda Natural Gem Mine which is the only place in the world where the light blue coloured and best moonstones are found. Then visit a Traditional Mask Factory at Ambalangoda. Proceed to Colombo the commercial capital of Sri-Lanka. Make a sightseeing tour of Colombo. Visit Pettah, Gangarama temple, remaining buildings from the colonial era, Fort, Galle face green, Independence square, BMICH, Old parliament etc. Explore the shopping malls, such as House of fashion, Odel, Lakmadura then proceed to Negombo. Overnight stay in Negombo.
